Man Sprays Dogs with Raid

A video caught by NBC affiliate KCBD could play a role in finally bringing animal cruelty charges against the owner of 60 or more dogs. The property being investigated by the Lubbock County Sheriff’s office is owned by a Mr. Lee. When news crews first visited the location some of the dogs were chained to the walls, barely able to reach the food and not able to reach water at all there was feces in the enclosures and dirty water.

Sheriff Kelly Rowe says they have been investigating the property owner, for over a year and have been out to the location many times to record evidence. The Sheriff’s office took their findings to the District Attorney’s Office to have charges filed. The DA’s office declined to pursue any animal cruelty charges on the owner. Legally the Sheriff’s office can only continue to compile evidence to give to the DA’s office and hope the DA will agree to file charges.

The reporter was invited back to the property earlier this week by Mr. Lee to see all the improvements he had made. While talking with Mr. Lee the reporter and film crew noticed a dog covered in flies. Mr. Lee grabbed a can of Raid, and he proceeded to spray it all over the dog. He then proceeded to do it to several other dogs nearby. Asked if he thought it was safe Mr. Lee through a translator said if you put it on the face it may burn an eye or something I put it on dogs bodies.

News crews reported what they saw and showed the video to the Sheriff’s office. An investigator has been sent back to the property to record the incident and took the cans of Raid as evidence as part of the investigation to present to the DA’s office.

You really don’t want me to ‘speak my mind’, do you. Is there no limit to the number of dogs one person can have there?

  2. wow.. and this is not enough evidence of cruelty…

  3. Oh my gosh…I hope the DA grows some balls and get those dogs out of there!!!
