Homemade Dog Bone Treats
Happy Holidays to all of our readers and fans! Over the next few days we will be sharing some fun Homemade Dog Treats with all of you. From simple and easy to made with lots of love and care your dogs will love each and every one of these yummy treats. Just remember to treat in moderation and save some in the freezer for later! Or gift little bags filled with Homemade Dog Bone Treats to all of your walking buddies or dog park friends.
Ingredients for your Homemade Dog Bone Treats:
1 egg
1/3 C creamy peanut butter
1/2 C mashed banana
1 TBSP honey
1 C whole wheat flour
1/2 C wheat germ
Icing Directions:
2 oz unsweetened plain yogurt
2 TBSP honey
red & green food coloring
Cookie Cutter Shape:
Dog Bone
Treat Directions:
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
-Combine all ingredients until everything is well blended.
-Add flour to a cutting board and roll out the dough.
-Using the dog bone cookie cutter cut out the dog treats.
-Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until hard.
-Allow to completely cool before icing.
Homemade Dog Treat Icing Directions:
-Combine the yogurt and honey mixing until it is blended.
-Take out 2 TBSP of icing out and add green food coloring. Mix well.
-Spoon the green icing into a piping bag with a #2 tip.
-Add red food coloring to the remaining icing, stir well.
-Spoon the red icing into a different piping bag with a #2 tip.
-Outline the bone in red. Allow to dry.
-Refer to the picture for details of adding the holly and berries.
-Using the green piping bag with tip add the connected dots to form holly.
-With the red icing add dots for the berries.
-Allow to totally dry.
