Now you are asking why if I think this system seems so great why am I not showing an install on my own front door? Very good question. The answer is as many of you know I recently moved and it just so happens that the apartment complex I now live in uses Kwikset locks on our doors. In fact one of the things that we were waiting on in order to be able to move in was the maintenance crew coming by to re-key the lock. Of course at the time I had no idea what that meant and thought that they meant replace the lock so that I would have brand new keys so no one else could get into my apartment in case an old tenant had taken a key when they left.
 
With the dogs in the apartment all day I of course wanted to make sure that they are secure and that other people can’t get in when I am not home. At least not without permission. I love the fact that if I need to this summer I can hire a dog sitter to visit with the girls while I am at work and when I no longer need the person I don’t have to worry about them making an extra key or forgetting to give me the key back. I can ask the apartment complex to come by and in less then a minute change out my keys so that once again no one can get into the apartment without my permission.
 
The same could go for having to dismiss a housekeeper or nanny or baby sitter someone you gave your key to in order to be able to get in and out of the house. If you had to fire them and are worried about your security with this lock all you would need to do is take your master key and re-key the lock and you can now be secure in knowing that no one can get into your home that you do not want there.
