The country star was driving home from a visit with her parents with her husband over the holidays when she saw two dogs injured in the middle of the highway. She immediately stopped the car and went out to see if she could help. Once dog was already dead and the second one was bleeding and injured so she lifted her into the car and had her husband drive directly to their emergency hospital to see what could be done to help the dog.
Underwood believes the two dogs were probably thrown out of the car by their owner while driving down the highway. In a new place with cars and trucks speeding by they were scared and overwhelmed. Underwood paid to have the emergency vet care for the dog’s injuries and get its teeth cleaned while it was there. Got medication for the lab now called Stella and took her to be groomed in order to clean her up from her experience on the highway.
On New Year’s Day Carrie Underwood posted an update on Stella for her fans saying that the lab was feeling much better and they were working on house training skills and looking for a permanent home for the dog. Stella like most labs I know loved to follow Carrie around the house from room to room and didn’t want to be out of her site.
Stella is now living with her forever family down the block from Carrie and her husband. Underwood says she would like to visit Stella as often as possible because she really bonded with her in the short time they were together but felt she was not the best home for her with a few dogs of her own already.

Wonderful that Carrie had a heart to help the injured dog and find a loving home for the Lab.I hope the person is found that did this terrible act. People that just up and throw away their animals, are no good.
