Puppy Thrown From Moving Car in Critical Condition

A puppy is in critical condition after she was thrown from a car in Connecticut. The puppy is in frail condition and on to of everything else might have a contagious virus. Which is why even in critical condition she is being quarantined by a local animal hospital. The lady that saw her being tossed out of the car brought the puppy to nearby Montville Animal Hospital, where she is being kept in a heated room and hooked up to an IV.

Unfortunately, over night she seems to have developed neurological signs. So she has a persistent head turn, her blood work shows that she has a low white cell count. The concern right now is that the little puppy may have Distemper which hopefully was caught in time to allow the puppy to recover.

The veterinarian and staff are concerned though the puppy was part of a larger litter, and that some of the other dogs might have contracted the distemper as well and if this one was toss into the street then who knows what the fate of the other puppies might be. The vet staff is pleading to the general public to try and get the message to the person who tossed the puppy out that if the rest are sick and they want to get rid of them that they should be taken to an animal care facility and to alert the staff of their condition otherwise someone could bring the puppies into their home and spread the disease to their dogs or the puppies could be left in a n area what is heavily trafficked by walking dogs and the disease can be spread that way.
