The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club Book Giveaway

The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club by Duncan Whitehead

About two weeks ago we posted a Review of The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club with the intention of posting this Giveaway on Friday February 22nd National Dog Walking Day. As those of you know that visited our Blog for the Pet Bloggers Blog Hop we had some technical difficulties while at Global Pet Expo and nothing got posted that day at all. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to give all of you the opportunity to win a copy of this book so I am posting it today instead. Its not like every day isn’t Dog Walking Day at our house and I am sure that Dog Walking Day is an everyday thing at your house as well and if it isn’t Davinia and Indiana think you should make it a part of your daily activity list. The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club Book Giveaway is a fun way to get everyone thinking about their dog’s health and their need to burn off energy each day. Dogs that walk each day are less likely to become overly obese and are happier and healthier overall.

The Gordonston Ladies Dog Walking Club Synopsis:
The friends and fellow members of Thelma Miller’s afternoon cocktail club gather to mourn her death and lament the life of their neighbor, but as old friends vie for the attention of the new widower, Alderman and mayoral candidate Elliott, jealousies surface and friendships are strained. An old woman with a dark secret and an infamous uncle plots her revenge for a perceived wrong done over thirty years before, a once successful children’s writer with his own secret is haunted by memories of the past, and aspiring model Kelly Hudd has just won the trip of a lifetime.

As secrets are revealed, old and recent history unravels and an intertwined web of deceits and lies surface in the middle class neighborhood. Meanwhile, a killer lurks and leaves the neighbors wondering if anyone is who they appear to be. A mysterious European gentleman in South America, a young Italian count parading the streets of Paris and a charitable and kind hearted nephew recently arrived from India add to the remarkable assortment of characters in this complex and thrilling story of murder, revenge and love.

  1. we drove 30 min to the country and she hopped like a deer through the fresh (untouched) snow! It was the cutest!

  2. whenever I take my dog for a walk its always an adventure, especially when he manages to get loose…and me going after him..

  3. We take our English Setter pheasant hunting. He loves it.

  4. Our walks aren’t overly adventurous, but they’re almost always enjoyable! But there was one time that one of my dogs managed to catch a baby groundhog. I was horrified (though impressed that my old girl was able to run fast enough). More impressed was that when I yelled for her to “drop it”, she stopped– mid “death shake” — dropped it, and came back to me. The groundhog was able to get up and run away and both it and Cheyenne seemed unharmed. I was very impressed that Cheyenne was able to listen that well (especially as this was only a few months after we adopted her.)

We took one of dogs in a Tractor Trailer when I drove one. She went all over the USA and we always got out to walk her in pretty places.

  6. When we took her to the lake and she made the kids take turns holding her in the water. She acted like she couldn’t swim. Which she did all the time.

  7. No joke the most fun we’ve had is taking walks in the rain! 🙂

  8. Gizmo likes urban walks OK but his favorite is off-leash runs in the woods like the two-day 22 mile romp we did in an area with no trails

  12. You wrote about a “mysterious European gentleman in South America, a young Italian count parading the streets of Paris and a charitable and kind hearted nephew recently arrived from India “. Wow I wish my walking dog group would have such a great assortment of characters! While we are in Hawaii (yes, the scenery is marvelous!), we are just a group of down to earth military wives sharing our stories with each other and coping with the absence of our partners. Thank you for using Rafflecopter for your book giveaway, it just makes the whole process much easier. I look forward to it and hope to win!
