Can You Help This Little Cat? Bubbles Needs a Home

Meet Bubbles formerly known as City Kitty. She was found by the local submerged in water and brought to Rabun Paws 4 Life where within seconds of meeting her everyone knew something was very wrong. She was driven directly to the vet for an exam where she was diagnosed with a neurological problem. Since she had been found submerged in water the vet wasn’t sure if her issues were from a Traumatic Brain Injury or something she was born with.

What they do know is that Bubbles head is very wobbly, she would sort of fall down and bang her head against her cage, and she walks funny. To keep her from injuring herself more the staff at Rabun Paws 4 Life created bubble wrap walls for her cage. When Bubbles first came into the shelter she could barely walk when taken out of her crate and given time to explore in the kitty playroom. Because they knew she needed extra love and attention anyone that goes into volunteer in the cat room is asked to spend some time with her and that is how I first met her.

With regular fresh food and water a ton of extra love and attention Bubbles is now able to walk around and explore her world. She knows she is different and so is not a fan of other cats or dogs. But she loves people and will curl up on your chest for a nap in between play time because she tires easily. If there is music playing she will wag her tail to the music. Her tail rarely stops wagging when she is out of her cage. I have never met a cat that wags its tail unless it is plotting world domination but she wags her tail because she is a happy little girl.

Bubbles will never be perfect her little head will wobble and she will walk funny and probably fall down often. At this point Traumatic Brain Injury has been ruled out and the vet believes she was born with her issues. Since she was not a kitten when she was found the vet can only really guess at the cause of her neurological issues but he believes that her mother probably had some sort of virus when she was pregnant with her which effected her brain development.

That will not stop Bubbles the cat from living a long life with a family that loves her. Until her perfect family comes around she will live at Rabun Paws 4 Life Georgia’s first Open Admission, No Kill Animal Shelter with a staff that loves her.

How you can help.
Bubbles is looking for a quite home to become a member of the family. She prefers to be the only cat and is not a fan of dogs either. As a new shelter Rabun Paws 4 Life is looking for all of the help they can find. Whether that is through adoption of their dogs and cats, volunteering at the shelter or adoption event, donations of supplies {blankets, towels, washcloths, paper towels, food (cats and dogs), Walmart Gift Cards, kitty litter, cat toys, dog treats, dog collars, Limited Ingredient Food for those animals who can’t eat the regular food, and anything else you can think of}, money, or even helping to share their animals via Social Media. Every little bit helps her and the other animals at her shelter.
