Shar Pei Dog Nurses Siberian Tiger Cubs

Russia Baby Tigers

Two Siberian tiger cubs born at a zoo near the Black Sea in Russia were abandoned by their mother. These two young cubs were born in May and luckily have found a foster mom who is caring for them. The zoo found the two cubs a a wrinkled, sand-colored Shar Pei dog named Cleopatra. Zoo assistant director Viktoria Kudlayeva said the dog immediately gave the cubs all her attention.

The cubs—named Clyopa, after their adopted mother, and Plyusha—are also being fed goat’s milk. Kudlayeva said that the cubs pose no danger to the dog even though they are already showing their claws and hissing. Their foster mom could care less and continues to care for the two babies as if they were her own.

This so great. I love stories that show how great dogs are especially when they are fostering other species of animal babies.

  3. Thanks so much. Love reading stories like this. Animals are good at taking care of each other. As I type this, I have a big smile on my face.
