Postal Worker Runs Over Dog 3 Times

Shock and outrage don’t even cut it with this case of a Postal Worker driving the mail truck over a dog. The dog Nala a friendly Golden Retriever went out of his house and was sniffing around the mail trucks tires. The Postal worker ran over the dog. One could agree it might have been an accident if the postal worker didn’t realize the dog was there and then got out of the vehicle to see what had happened. However that is not what occurred here. It took the Postal worker 3 times to get over the dogs neck with the vehicle.

While there is an investigation pending it is unclear that even if they can prove that the driver was 100% in the wrong (which I am sure most people would agree he was after watching the dog’s owner talk about what happened and the reaction of the postal worker driving the truck, and all the supervisors who have now gone to the owner to express their apologies and condolences.) The issue is that the Postal worker is unionized and so there might be no recourse the owner can claim from the driver or postal service for the loss of his pet and the pain the dog suffered while being run over mulitple times. in fact while the investigation is on goign the Postal worker is still on the job driving his truck.

No the dog should not have been near the truck or running loose in front of his house it wasn’t like the dog was in the middle of the street playing in traffic or darted out in front of the truck. Even if the driver claims that he didn’t know it was the dog shouldn’t he have gotten out of the truck to see what he had run over the first time? The details are just sickening to me that anyone could do that to any animal let alone a dog. It happens that sometimes there is just nothing you can do because the dog, bird, squirrel, etc ran out in front of your car last second and you just can’t stop in time. This tragedy wasn’t that at all. The dog was sniffing around by the truck and apparently there was no warning that the truck was going to move forward and then the driver showed no sympathy or empathy for what he did because he had to have at least seen what happened in his mirrors after he went along to the next house.

If you would like to see Nala’s owners side of what happened you are welcome to watch the video. He does get very detailed in his description but there is no graphic pictures of the dog or anything like that in the video.

  1. Poor baby, I hope that mailman gets fired

  2. While i feel horrible for Nala and her grieving owner, it is a pet owner’s responsibility to secure their pet at all times. I doubt the postal worker ran over the dog on purpose and may’ve even thought he was against the curb. The lack of owner responsibilty has now probably cost the postal worker his job and in turn a financial hardship for his family. I have worked in the veterinary field for 30 yrs and see so many “accidents” happen from the owners lack of responsibility. There are 2 sides to every story..just saying.

  3. This story made me sick.

  4. This is so sad. 2 sides to a story but who losses, the poor dog, I guess you can say that were both at fault but sometimes dogs get out by accident. My dogs pass the boundaries when the batteries go dead on the collar with our electronic fence, but I find it hard to believe that this dog wasn’t heard when it got run over and I find it harder to believe that a dog this size wasn’t noticed after running it over. So let’s see, the worker didn’t feel a thing when driving over this dog and didn’t check. Well thank god it wasn’t a young child because this postal worker didn’t care and this is not to minimize the loss of this poor dog or owner. This would have been murder if it was a human. Shame the worker was neglectful in a big way. To the owner, I am sorry for your loss and to the postal worker you should turn in your license because you have no right having one and you are a danger to all living things.
