Dog Left Aboard Sinking Vessel Rescued

An Air Station Kodiak (Alaska) based Jayhawk lifted off and went to the vessels position in order to rescue the crew but because of the rescue equipment being used they were unable to rescue the dog. At 1:23 pm, the Jayhawk crew hoisted the five crewmembers of the stricken vessel and transported them to Kodiak. Alaska. The dog that had to be left aboard the half sunken fishing vessel yesterday afternoon when five members of the Scandia crew were rescued by a skiff wearing their survival is now safe. The dog was rescued by the Hazel Lorraine the ship that tried to tow the the Scandia to harbor. The dog has been reported to be in good condition. and is reported in good condition but the fishing vessel has now completely sunk.
