A Visit to Best Friends Pet Care

Mack

I decided to attend a 20th anniversary open house at Best Friends Pet Care in Duluth, GA. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the perfect weather for an outing with Mack, my 2-year-old German Sheppard Lab mix. Our 30-minute ride to the boarding facility consisted of the usual, Mack with his head out the window lapping up gusts of wind and taking in the scent of every restaurant we passed. When arriving at Best Friends, the first thing I noticed was how private the property seemed. Located off a fairly busy highway that I use often, the building is so secluded and private that I never knew it was even there. After unloading, I observed Mack as he scout out the front of the property. After a few minutes of sniffing around he gave me the β€œall clear” signal by tugging at his leash toward the main entrance as if there were more excitement inside than there were outside. Upon walking into the lobby we were greeted by friendly staff that immediately gained approval from my somewhat shy pup. As we toured the facility, we were informed about the many activities and services Best Friends offers. I was very interested in the Doggy Day Camp, training, and social opportunities they offer when boarding. After lounging around in the common area and completing our tour, we returned to the lobby where Mack received some gourmet doggy treats baked to perfection, ice cream, and a more detailed information packet about Best Friends Pet Care.

Overall, the Pet Center was very impressive. I’ve been to many boarding sites that have an aroma of urine and cleaning products, but at Best Friends everything was clean and welcoming. During the tour, even the pets who were vacationing there seemed to greet us with smiles and barking out invitations to come play. Given the friendly staff, clean and inviting appearance, I would most definitely consider boarding my loved one here.

Indiana meeting Intern Chris

Meet Intern Chris

Chris Powell is a Human Services Delivery and Administration Student at Gainesville State College who is interested in learning more about Social Media. With his love for his dog Mack he felt Two Little Cavaliers was a great way to learn more about the world of Social Media.

A Note from Two Little Cavaliers:
The girls were so excited to go out and visit a different location of Best Friends Pet Care after their visit to Best Friends Pet Care at Walt Disney where they had an absolutely amazing time. This trip was only to visit and play for a few hours but they really enjoyed themselves. For the first hour we were there the girls had the staff all to themselves! They got to have some really yummy doggy ice cream which the staff hand fed them!!! Not only did they think the ice cream was yummy but they decided the staff there was their new Best Friends. After ice cream time we got to go out into the play yard to run off some of that ice cream. As soon as we came back in the staff saw that the girls were really hot and got them a nice big bowl of water.

When intern Chris arrived the girls got to meet and greet him and his dog Mack. And then we went straight out to the play yard again for a second playtime!!!!

  5. Jodi, Kolchak & Felix says

That looks like fun! It’s always so nice to have a spot that you’re comfoable trusting your pets with. Felix has *mad* separation anxiety, so it can be hard to get away for anything more than a couple hours, plus they have ice cream. What’s not to love?

  6. That looks awesome!! I wish we had a place like that here.

  13. This looks like a vacation for dogs!! It’s a shame so many kennels/boarding facilities are not acceptable…it makes it bad for all of them!

  15. oh so cute – and they look so happy to be there πŸ™‚

  16. We are thinking of adopting a Dachsund from a friend who is moving cross-country. We just don’t know if we can afford her. I would love her as a companion, and my son adores her already. How do I convince my husband and then come up with the extra money required? I need to make more money blogging. πŸ™‚
