Sponsor a Homeless Dog for Mother’s Day

Most of us will get to spend this Mother’s Day with our moms or someone special, but dogs and cats and other pets in shelters and rescues across the country may not find homes in time to give loving purrs and wags to their new forever family. You can show them love by sponsoring a pet in your mom’s name for Mother’s Day, and in return, you’ll get a certificate to present with the flowers and candy or breakfast in bed this year. You could even make the certificate yourself and ask if you can take a picture of one of the waiting animals when you bring something special for that dog or cat a blanket to cuddle in some treats or a toy would probably all be welcome. Consider asking that the sponsorship go to an elderly animal, one with special needs, or one that is black in color since these are the ones that will be waiting around the longest for a new home.

Sponsorships and donations to shelters and rescues helps to cover some of the costs to take care of the animal while waiting for a new home. Sometimes rescues will have a wish list put together for each dog in their care and what they would like to have while waiting for a new home ask to see it in case you have some of the items on the list just sitting around at home unused.

Remember its not just the dog or cat that are at the local shelter that could benefit from a sponsorship horses, ferrets, rabbits, and all sorts of animals find themselves homeless.
