No you don’t need to invest in a dog sitter or beg the neighborhood children to stop by after school to give your dog a treat. Apparently all you will need is twitter and a special computerized dog feeder that releases food each time your dog’s friend tweets at them.
Nat Morris, created a new form of twitter feed now no longer the long list of updates from those you follow “Twitter feed” is a motorized food system that gives his Border Terrier, Toby, a snack each time he sends a Twitter message. For those of you addicted to twitter you would obviously need to sign up for a new account so your dog isn’t throwing up by the end of the day and obese by the end of the first week using the “Twitter Feed”. But it does sound like a fun tool and this way you know that your dog will not be starving when you get home from work.
Twitter Feed a dog feeder that is filled with small dog treats is linked to a computer, which opens a trap door to release a biscuit whenever a message is sent to Toby’s account @FeedToby.
Morris said, “Toby absolutely loves it. At first he didn’t know what was going on. Now he sits underneath, wagging his tail and waiting for the treats to drop.”
At first there were no restrictions on the “Twitter Feed” but then friends and family started to learn about the idea and feeding Toby was restricted to the hours between 9am and 9pm. Now as more and more people follow Toby and tweet at the little dog trying to give a treat the latest update has treats dropping only every 15 minutes so Toby does not put on too much weight.
That is taking the meaning of #PawPawty to a whole new level. Now when the Barktender’s serves you that Bacon sandwich you really do get a special treat from a friend.

Now THAT is kind of cool!! Could you even imagine something like that 10 years ago!!
Wow! I’m seriously impressed!!!
how cute is this? what a great idea hehe
That sounds like a cute idea – as long as you can control when the treats come… I can see too many friends sharing a treat and ruining the puppy’s diet…
Wow talk about high tech. I am just wondering how this would work in a larger home though?
The Twitter Feed beeps before it drops a treat alerting the dog that a treat is on the way. I am sure though that once your dog learns that the machine dispenses treats while you are away that it would probably find a comfortable place to sleep very close by so no treats are missed.
That is sooo cool… Though I think my dogs would figure out how to hack into a laptop and be little whales by the time i got home!
This is pretty cool!
Ha Ha!!! This is awesome!! Great idea!! How do you know if the dog is being good?? Better make sure you have a camera too!
What a great idea! I want to try it 🙂
What an awesome idea – I love it!

Haha, this is such an awesome idea! Little Toby must be getting a little podgy now – a treat every 15 minutes is a lot of treats per day! I don’t know how well this would work with my two dogs – they’re still learning how to share…
