I first met the people from EzyDog at Global Pet Expo in Orlando in March. Its not exactly noteworthy to say I met them there considering there are thousands of Pet Brands representing hundreds of thousands of products. It is in my opinion both a credit to their marketing techniques and their product that it is one of the few that truly stand out in my mind. I had to leave Global Pet Expo without a product sample of the product that I most wanted to try because I wasn’t there representing my blog.
Summit Backpack
The product I am talking about is the Sparky Leash and Coupler. For those of you who don’t know a coupler is a really cool leash accessory that takes a single leash and makes it possible to walk two dogs. Now in theory a coupler should be awesome because you only need one handle to walk multiple dogs in practice most couplers tangle around each other and your dogs get stuck. The difference with the EzyDog Coupler is that it does not allow your dogs to get tangled up. They can switch being on the right or left they can even be one in front and one behind. If it wasn’t amazing enough that I now only have to hold one leash for two dogs the leash itself is cool enough on its own. The handle of the leash is a shortened water ski type handle and the leash is bungee cord so when your dogs pull whether it is to chase a bird or to try and go play with another dog your arm does not feel like it is going to be pulled out of its socket. It only took one time for the girls to learn not to pull like a pack of wolves when they saw a small animal. We have been using the leash a little over a month now and there was only one time that they fully extended the leash because they were chasing something. I should mention though that if you have to shorten the leash because there is a strange dog coming towards you or there is a lot of traffic all of a sudden the first few times you grab the bungee cord part it feel really weird but over time it becomes normal.
Since we received the leash there is not a single time that I took the girls out for a walk that we didn’t use their Sparky Leash and Coupler. In fact I took Indiana to a local event and decided to use just the leash part to see how it worked. It was great she was easy to handle even with a ton of other dogs around. She didn’t ask to be picked up once and for the most part was willing to stand around while we were talking or watching the other dogs doing agility or watching the police dog get put through his paces. I seriously love their leash and coupler. It does exactly what they demonstrated to those passing their booth at Global Pet Expo. It allows you to walk two dogs at a time and not allow them to get tangled up.
