Slim the police dog got was the force that took down Madison Wisconsin’s Most Wanted man who was hiding from police in a marsh after a routine traffic stop alerted authorities to who he really was and that he was driving in a stolen car. Richards is on the Madison Most Wanted list for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to police reports, Madison, Wisconsin officers were pursuing Richards after he fled from a stolen car that was involved in the routine traffic stop.
The Madison Police Department and the Dane County Sheriff’s Office provided mutual aid to the town of Madison in looking for the fugitive thank goodness Slim was on duty that day with his partner and could be called out to help in the search for the wanted criminal. Police and Sheriff Officers followed the fugitive to a marshy area and made the decision that if necessary they would release Slim to find the fugitive and bring him to justice.He refused to turn himself over even though authorities said he was surrounded.
As per official rules authorities alerted Richards that if he did not give himself up that the dog would be let off leash to track him down and use any meas necessary to immobilize him. There was no response from the fugitive so Slim the dog was let off leash and told to find which he did within seconds. Richards was begging for the authorities to call the dog off. Slim had clamped onto Richards leg in order to keep him in place until the authorities could get there.
