Run Free at the Rainbow Bridge One Eyed Kitty

One eyed kitty

When I called my dad earlier today to see if he had been able to get in touch with a client he needs me to visit for him he told me that he found one eyed kitty dead this morning. My parents have no idea what happened to her if it was an accident from falling out of a tree or if an animal attacked her. They didn’t think she was acting strange when they saw her last and she had been eating her food like she normally did. For those of you who have never met one eyed kitty before my dad found her crying in a tree in their backyard about 6 months ago. She was friendly and allowed him to get close to her and say hello. The thought was she was brought up as someone’s kitty and then left to fend for herself. When my parents were living in the house she found them at she would go for walks with them when they would take their dog Whisper out. Sometimes she would stop to say hello to neighbors and steal their kitties food but no one knew who she belonged to. My parents really didn’t want her either because my mom is REALLY allergic and cannot be in a house that has cats and knew she would have to stay an outdoor kitty.

One day after one of her adventures she came crying back to my dad to tell him her eye was injured. He took her to the vet and found out there was nothing they could do for it. He decided that since she had chosen him that she needed to be spayed so she couldn’t bring him and my mom any kittens. She was spayed and given medication for her eye. When we visited and met her for the first time she would run over to us and then swat at the girls who compared to Whisper were not much bigger then her. Davinia was not impressed and Indiana got upset about it because she just wanted to say hello and cuddle.

When they moved to a new house and they took her with them only she could no longer go for walks with them because their drive away was too long and steep and she would be panting by the time she made it back to the top. So she learned to wait for Whisper at the top of the driveway and greet her when they got back from a walk.

So sorry to hear about kitty. Unfortunately outdoor kitties don’t fare well, at least most. So sorry for your loss, hope you and your dad find peace with this. You are in my thoughts.

  3. Sorry to hear about One Eyed Kitty. She was certainly beautiful.
