Book My Seizure Dog Written By 7 Year Old Tops Amazon Best Seller List

Seven Year old Evan Moss came up with the idea to write a book in order to raise money so he could have a Service Dog trained to alert to his seizures. The Book is called “My Seizure Dog” and was launched on Juky 1st. It has been on the top of the Amazon Best Sellers in Children’s Health for several weeks now. Between the success of his book and the generosity of donors, Evan has raised enough money for a dog for himself and five other children. The organization that Evan will be getting his dog from at the beginning of next summer asks that each family put together fundraisers as a way to educate the community about their child’s condition and about what service dogs can do. Of course not everyone is as successful at fundraising as Evan has been with his book so the money will go to help other families come up with all the $13,000 necessary for each dog. The money is then used to train a service dog for the next family so there is always a group of dogs in training and getting ready to go help children live a more independent life.

This family has certainly done their part in educating the public about epilepsy and service dogs. Evan has done book signings and had up to 600 people waiting online to meet him and have them sign his book. People in the area who suffer from seizures who have their own dog stopped by to say hello to Evan who was so excited to meet the service dogs and people.

Evan’s dad Robert Moss created the website seizuretracker.com to help patients and doctors track seizures and understand how anti-epileptic medication may influence them. The site organizes the information for a doctor, saving precious time during appointments. “It was then turned into a five-minute discussion. The rest of the time could be discussing treatments and where to go from there,” Moss says. Moss says 8,000 people are using it.
