America’s Got Talent iLuminate Must See Video

I really had to share when I saw this performance from Tuesday Night America’s Got Talent. It is beyond amazing.

The lighting system they wear called iLuminate is a wearable lighting system which was developed by Miral Kotb, a dancer, Columbia University-educated software engineer, and iPhone app maker. The iLuminate system uses wearable lightweight LEDs and electroluminescent wire (el-wire), which are attached to the dancers’ outfits, and controlled via commands from a computer or a custom iPhone app. The system turns the lights on and off to correspond with the music. In addition to having a software engineer on its team, the Team iLuminates furthered its geek credibility by using a rendition of the Jenova Project theme music from Final Fantasy VII during it performance. Kotb and crew have plans to bring the iLuminate system to the masses with the soon-to-launch uLuminate mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. It looks like something for those who take part in Second Life but I could be wrong since there is not much information about it available yet. But it looks like it takes your avatar and allows you to create a light and dance show from your device.

When they make it to Vegas because lets face it even if they don’t win the show there is no way that they will not be snatched up to perform by someone. I wonder if they will bring Dog Freestyle into their act. I think with the right trainers they could add an incredible piece to their performance to make it even more over the top then it already is.

  1. Thanks for sharing this one….amazing choreography. It isn’t until the house lights come on that one realizes how many dancers there are involved.
