Puppy Thrown from 3rd Floor Window

According to court documents, Nidra Billard’s boyfriend left in the middle of an argument, so she threw his 6-week-old pitbull out of a third-floor window the puppy landed in an area that was a mixture of grass and concrete. The puppy survived but when police arrived it was non-responsive. The pup was taken by police to receive veterinary care and finally made its way to BARC.

“BARC sees a lot of despicable things, but to see a dog used as a tool to get back at someone that you are in a fight with? Just shows a complete lack of any type of humanity,” said Christopher Newport with BARC.

The puppy now named Wyatt has vision issues and might be completely blind. The puppy will need to be looked at by a neurologist and will most be undergoing some advance diagnostic imaging so they can better determine the extent of his injuries. Wyatt, is now in the care of TREAT EM RIGHT RESCUE so that he can be shuttled around to specialist visits and receive the one on one attention that he needs

Billard’s bond was set at $5,000. She faces up to two years in state jail and a $10,000 fine if convicted. Her next court appearance is in July.
