Private Citizens Rescuing Dogs from the Exclusion Zone

Several people got together armed with a camera and wearing protective gear have gone into the Fukushima Exclusion Zone several times this week to bring dogs who were left behind to safety. The videos each tell their own story but it is clear to me that these dogs just want to be near the people. They are starved for attention more so then food they. None seem upset by the car and all of them seem to want to just jump right in and not wait for a leash and in some cases collar to be put on them. Its also clear that these people are animal lover they just have no experience what so ever trying to catch a dog that has gotten loose. They did bring along some food and treats though so made instant friends. Which was good because it kept the dogs near the car while they got things together. All in all they did get three dogs out that day which is amazing considering this wasn’t their first trip and each time this group of friends were able to find dogs and get them out of the Exclusion Zone.

  3. What Wonderful Young People and a few more dogs taken from the danger zone.
Love this site, it brings a bright Ray of light
when the world seems so dangerous and dark.

  4. These poor dogs. It is so clear they are starving for human attention. I can't blame them. When you think about how confusing it must be to them – earthquake, tsunami and then complete silence as all the humans leave? Wow. God bless these volunteers. I wish the news media would share stories like these on the news.
