A Mason, Ohio man is charged with a misdemeanor count of teasing a police dog after he was spotted making barking sounds at the canine. The K-9’s handler was working the scene of a car crash when he heard his dog barking wildly from the car. As this is unusual behavior from a police dog who is waiting in the car he stopped what he was doing to investigate the matter further. As he went over to investigate he saw a man standing in front of the back window making barking noises and hissing at the dog. To make matters even more bizzarre when the suspect saw the police officer approaching he fled the area.
When the man was found and asked why he was provoking the dog his reply was that “the dog started it”. The man appeared highly intoxicated according to the report and was brought back to the bar he had been drinking at and the police officer told them to find him a ride home. The man is now supposed to appear in court when he is sober and to face the charge of teasing a police dog.
Idiots barking at dogs is one of my biggest pet peeves, no pun intended!
