I thought the other Volkswagon ad with Darth Vader one was really well made. But the others that I saw I was pretty unimpressed with. I know that so much money is spent on them and that bidding wars happen in order to receive a slot it is sad they didn't have more of a wow factor.
I still think the Career Builder chimp is pure genius…I laugh the second I see that chimp.
I thought last night's commercial with the pug was rather mean…didn't care for it…
My favorite non-animal commercials were “Imported by Detroit” with Eminem and the one with the old folks in the Nursing Home.
There were a few that I thought were extremely mean spirited (fake baby smashing into window or whatever it was, was one of those)
The Doritos with the pug was one of my least favorite commercials. I guess it's because of having greyhounds–but seeing someone trying to get a dog to run into a glass door made me sick to my stomach.
Besides just being mean, it's dangerous. I know pugs don't necessarily run fast enough to have major damage, but all I could think about are the greyhounds I've heard who run into glass doors or windows and actually get killed. It's there first time encountering such things as glass doors and windows, they see prey, they run.
Am I over-thinking it? Yep. But I think it was among the worst of the commercials.
I really liked the dog sitter one, but not really the Doritos ad with the pug and the door. Made me worry that some idiots out there would decide to try it.
I saw it as just the opposite that the pug was smarter then the idiot trying to get it to run head first into the glass door. But yeah I could see how even bigger idiots would try it at home.
Now that I think about it I have heard of dogs who have stunned themselves crashing into glass doors. I had never heard of a dog fatally wounding itself Poor babies 🙁
