For all the cat owners out there I was pretty impressed with this video and the person showing how to do it. I always thought cats were harder to pill then dogs but there is no way I can get Davinia and especially lock her jaw tight Indiana to open their mouths like in the first two examples. Maybe I should wrap Indiana in a towel and try it this way next time she needs a pill.
How to Pill A Cat
December 16, 2010 by

Pretty much the way I did it when I had a cat before I got married.
Now I have dogs and I just stick the pill inside a nice piece of cooked chicken and it usually goes down their mouth in one shallow.
I used to do the towel thing when Bobo was alive…and often if I just laid him on his back in my arms (like a baby) he would readily take a pill that way.
Also…Greenies now has PILL POCKETS for cats and dogs….you can purchase them at the vet or pet stores carry them as well. They are GENIUS! You just insert the pill in the pill pocket (which is a soft treat) and the cat READILY eats them.
“Hiding” the pill in the food NEVER worked for Cody or Bobo…they were both too smart for that and would eat right around it.
As for our Sheltie…he eats ANYTHING and everything and will eat the pill right out of our hand ohhhh except for one…we had to hide that in his food…he ate it because he isn't nearly as smart as a CAT!

Hi,
Thank you for showing this, being a cat owner for as long as I can remember, I never ever thought of the towel idea! I'm going to use it the next time one of my cats needs pills. Thanks!
