Follower Appreciation Days: Dog Treats Giveaway!

About Natural Pups:

We provide fresh oven baked treats for dogs with the added benefit of Chinese herbs. Everything is baked fresh to order and rigorously tested for quality and taste.

Our treats are made with only human quality ingredients and absolutely no fillers, no chemicals, no refined sugar, no salt or preservatives. We use only high quality whole wheat flour, wholesome oats, pure extra virgin olive oil, real eggs, all natural peanut butter, all natural real cheese, real chicken broth and real beef broth.

The Story Behind the Company:
We noticed that our dogs had been having some health problems, leading them to be a little irritable. A family friend who is a veterinarian had been working with animals and herbal remedies for many years and had given us some medication for our dogs which they hated. Instead of forcing them to take the herbs, we decided to devise a new plan: add them to some dog treats to cover the flavor, but retain the nutritional benefits. After spending some time shopping for groceries at a local organic food store, it occurred to us that our pets deserve to have the same healthy, wholesome ingredients that we eat everyday. We combined whole wheat flour, oats, extra virgin olive oil and peanut butter together with the herbs and the dogs gobbled them up instantly!

Our treats are fresh baked to order and you can customize the treats to suit your dog’s taste and conditions. Everything is made from human quality ingredients which are purchased from quality retailers. No fillers here!

Natural Pups is the premiere dog treat company in the US which combines the health benefits of real, natural Chinese herbs with the delicious crunch of a biscuit to make caring for your dog easier than ever. Our herbalists have worked with Chinese herbs for more than 30 years and have found the most efficient way to have your pets take their herbal supplements. Our formulas are created on the basis of traditional Chinese Medicine and modern biochemistry and developed by experienced professionals. Natural Pups dog treats are manufactured under the strictest quality controls and tested extensively to ensure optimum effectiveness, potency and safety. The benefits include general health, energy, immune system boost, pain relief, balance, digestion and fur care.

The Chinese refer to a body’s energy as “qi”. For the body to function properly, the qi must be stored as an “essence” and subsequently released to flow through the proper channels of the body. If not enough qi essence is stored or if qi flow is obstructed, a qi imbalance may occur, which often results in feelings of fatigue and a lack of energy. Chinese herbal formulas are used to treat qi imbalances. Our treats are fresh baked to order and you can customize the treats to suit your dog’s taste and conditions. Everything is made from human quality ingredients which are purchased from quality retailers. No fillers here!

Our Review:

We were sent 2 different formulas for review. The Energy (to help them heal from surgery or traumatic event and the Harmony (to calm nerves and help them become less stressed) both of which Davinia needs in her life and I figured it wouldn’t be harmful if Indiana also had a few as treats ๐Ÿ˜‰ so I chose flavors that I knew they would both like.
Of course like with all treats that arrive for us to review I ripped open the box to let the dogs see if they liked the new treats. Both flavors (one came in Peanut Butter and one was cheese flavored) smelled so good if I had ordered the cookies in wheat free I might have had to have one to try myself. The girls went nuts they loved the smell of them and thought they tasted good as well. The dosage is 2 cookies for every 10lbs so that means they can have about 3 of each flavor per day and trust me they would have eaten all 6 cookies at once if I let them actually they would have just eaten the entire bag.
We actually received these treats before I left for BlogPaws so while I was gone and they were boarding at the vet they took these cookies with them for treats because I knew how crazy they went after having a few. Obviously they had a few too many treats with not quite enough exercise while I was gone because they looked like little watermelons on legs when I went to pick them up. So of course they couldn’t have many treats while I was getting them back to their regular weight but the second they could have treats again they were devouring these cookies. Then I got sick and they weren’t getting these as treats so I can’t really judge if the herbs were doing what they were supposed to do. I do know that sensitive stomach Indiana did not get an upset stomach from the treats. They also do not smell even a bit like a Chinese Medicine (after spending a year in Hong Kong I think I am allowed to say if something smells like Chinese Medicine where there are stores all over the country specializing in Herbal Medicine.)
I figure that since they don’t upset their tummies and don’t smell like Chinese Medicine whatever else the cookies do or don’t do is not all that important. Though I really would love a cookie that magically calmed Davinia when she gets into her I am so excited I can’t calm down times. I really don’t think there is such a cookie so maybe if these cookies help just a little bit that is a start.
