What is Puppyhood.com?

Puppyhood.com is a new website from Purina Puppy Chow that serves as a go-to destination to help new and future pet owners navigate through puppyhood. At Pupphood.com, visitors can go on a virtual dog walk where they’ll encounter hotspots that bring up puppy related content, including funny videos and tips and on nutrition, behavior, training and what to expect as your puppy grows. By joining the Puppyhood owners can create a customized learning experience specific to their pup, and take advantage of helpful tools and exclusive benefits and coupons. Members will have access to special features, including a puppy milestone tracker, expert advice and puppy destinations and resources in their own community.

I have wanted a new Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy addition since before I started Blogging. The timing wasn’t right back then so it never happened. Now well now I remember what an absolute terror Indiana was when she first came home. She didn’t want to sleep at night even cuddle up with me. She used my hands as her own personal teething toy and she liked to pee everywhere. The not wanting to sleep went away pretty quickly with no outside help but the teething on my hands by the little shark with the sharpest puppy teeth ever didn’t go away. Eventually I threw my hands up in the air and took a walk over to the local Pet Supply Store to ask for help. No I take that back. BEG for help.

And that is exactly what I received. Help dealing with Indiana’s teething situation. Ok so there was more help to come because I also signed her up on the spot for Puppy School but that was still a few weeks off and I was left on my own to figure out how to teach a puppy. Indiana’s Puppy School teacher is now a friend that I am sure I could ask any dog related question I wanted and she would still help. But imagine all of the great tips and ideas I could have found had Purina’s Puppyhood.com website been around when I had a little terror on my hands.

Puppyhood

We lived in a tiny apartment at the time and I used to take her into the hall to work with her because she thought the entire apartment was her playroom. I wonder if she would have better boundaries if I had a resource like these Tips for Apartment Training a Puppy.

We got through the Puppy Stage pretty much the minute Indiana started Puppy School. She went from puppy to a dog with a purpose and she was a smart and driven little girl. We breezed through Puppy School and started Pre-Agility and Rally Training. Indiana was too young to start on jumps and we didn’t really have anywhere safe to practice on the weave polls but she did have fun and that is all that mattered to me.

The one thing we didn’t really discuss the true importance of was dental hygiene and caring for puppy teeth. It wasn’t that it wasn’t discussed in Puppy School it was just with everything else we were learning it sort of took a back seat in my mind and it shouldn’t have.
