Inspire Us Tuesdays Saying Thank You To Your Veterinarian

This week we want to encourage you to say Thank You to your veterinarian for keeping your pet healthy! Sure Veterinarians get to play with puppies and kittens on a regular basis but just as regularly they deliver shocking or horrible news about a Beloved pet to their owner. That and the long days and nights take a toll on your Veterinarian and their staff. People run in at any time of day with an already packed waiting room carrying an extremely sick or critically injured pet begging the vet to help. If you happen to be sitting in the waiting room when this happens you will notice that everything else is put on hold while the staff deals with the emergency. Well that emergency could have come in during the night or first thing when the office closed and instead of doing rounds or getting surgery started for those booked that day the Veterinarian starts with the emergency patient. Inevitably this throws the entire day off and the Vet and their staff try and play catch up. So instead of grumbling the next time you have to wait stop and think about if it was your pet they were helping and that you would want everyone to stop and help too. Sure it is an inconvenience in your day but the 20 minutes you were waiting could have literally been the difference between life and death for another pet. Instead of getting mad or upset say thank you! It is such an easy thing to say but people often leave the office in a huff.

Saying Thank You to Your Veterinarian is easy enough but often overlooked. Instead of getting shocked by your bill call ahead and ask for the pricing on routine visits. Ask if they offer a wellness plan or routine care bundles. Many clinics do and they help save you money. If you don’t know what something is instead of dismissing it outright ask what they mean or to clarify what it includes. Saying Thank You to Your Veterinarian shouldn’t be a once a year thing on Christmas or New Year’s when you send a card. It should be a regular thing that you say after each visit emergency or non emergency. Yes, Veterinarians do what they do because they love animals but along with loving on your pet comes some really sad diagnosis that they have to give to long time clients. Be friendly during your visits just because you feel put out at having to wait or paying out of pocket doesn’t mean that the appointment immediately before yours wasn’t to tell a family that there is nothing left the vet can do but keep a beloved pet pain free for a little while longer so that they can say their goodbyes. Saying Thank You to Your Veterinarian means so much to them on busy jam packed days and lets them know that you appreciate their care.

These sweet recipes make a great way to do just that!

These Cherry Limeade Cupcakes from Greta’s Day sound scrumptious!

We couldn’t decide which of these 17 Amazing Disney Cupcakes from Kelly Stilwell we liked best!

This sweet Root Beer Float Cupcake treat from Shibley Smiles is sure to make your vet feel really appreciated!

Kelly Stilwell wowed us with Chunky Monkey Cupcakes . Our vet might go bananas over these!

But then again… Kelly also shared these awesome Disney Pixar Inside Out Cupcakes. These colorful treats are sure to make any veterinarian happy as can be!

Of course, another way to say thanks would be to make your vet lunch. This Fiesta Rice recipe from My Organized Chaos would be a great surprise! We think it would be a fun alternative to a cupcake and of course healthier. Plus we think that this recipe probably tastes great warm but pretty good at room temperature as well. As we said above you never know when your Veterinarian is going to have an emergency patient and lunch gets moved back an hour or two.

If cooking isn’t your thing don’t worry! You could make your veterinarian a handmade gift of aluminum can coasters from Condo Blues.

Don’t forget to grab a button if you were featured!
