Homemade Biscotti Dog Treats
When snack time comes around around make sure that your furry best friend has a treat too. These Carob Chip Biscotti Dog Treats are easy enough to make and since you are making them yourself you only use ingredients you can pronounce and know the origins of! Double Bonus. Plus they smell amazing when they are baking in the oven. Chances are your dog will be waiting in the kitchen while these homemade Biscotti Dog Treats are cooking.
These are all human safe ingredients although you will likely find them unappealing due to the lack of sweetener and the addition of beef broth, if a little child is helping to give your dog a treat and they decide to taste the treat nothing is going to happen. That alone is worth the effort of making dog treats yourself especially if you have little ones in the house or will have little ones visiting for the holidays. I learned my lesson when a friend’s little one came over and wanted to give the dog treats and decided to try one herself. No one is happy when a child puts dog kibble in their mouth. Anytime after that experience that there were going to be little humans around we put away the dog food and store bought treats and opted for a homemade treat or human but healthy for dog treat.
Make them for your own pets or make a double batch of Homemade Biscotti Dog Treats to gift to a special dog on your Holiday list!
Ingredients:
1 1⁄2 whole wheat flour
1⁄2 cup beef broth (Make sure the beef broth does not contain any onions. Beef broth can be heavy on the onions and onions are not good for dogs. If in doubt use water with a drop of oil instead. Your dogs will love them just as much.)
3⁄4 cup peanut butter
1⁄3 cup carob chips
1⁄2 tsp. baking powder
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine broth, peanut butter, carob chips, and baking powder until well combined.
Form a rectangle “loaf” on prepared baking sheet roughly 10” x 4”x 1 1⁄2”.
If you want to make smaller biscotti just make the loaf longer and not as wide.
Bake for 22-24 minutes until golden brown.
Remove, cool for 5 minutes.
slice into 1⁄4” pieces
bake another 10 – 12 minutes
Looks yummy!
Those sound so good. I love biscotti in my coffee.
I always thought it would be fun to make my own treats for my pup. He was allergic to so much it would have been easier!
How cute are those? I love making treats for my pets instead of buying them.
How SMART and FUN!!!!! I think my dog would love to have a biscotti with me in the mornings with my coffee! These are two cute!
Wow! Great recipe for the dog lovers!

What a nice treat! I’ve never had dogs so I don’t have experience in making homemade treats. I think it’s the best for them because you know exactly what goes in.

My dog can be very picky about her treats but always loves your recipes. I will have to make this for her and she what she thinks.
My pups would love these Biscottis! Yum! This is a great treat to make them on their birthdays 🙂
I’ve never made homemade treats but these look so easy to make. My pup would go nuts over these!
Ohh! I can do that recipe easily! If only I have a dog!
I wish my fur baby would at least try to have dog biscuits. He is a picky eater and shuns away from anything crunchy. I will let my sister know about this though. She has a beagle and would chomp on anything!
Sounds really great for the animals, I’ll have to try to make it for them.
I haven’t made home-made dog treats before – but I need to start. i know my dog would love these!
