How to Repel Spiders Naturally
I am not sure that anyone really likes spiders, which is why so many people go to chemically filled extremes to keep these eight legged creatures out of their homes. But we all know that not only are the chemicals bad for us but they are equallybad if not worse for our pets. If you want to get rid of spiders on your property but don’t want to harm your pets in doing so, here are some All Natural options a try. These chemical free alternatives are great for homes with children and pets!

How to Repel Spiders Naturally
1. Try peppermint.
Plant peppermint plants in the yard and sprinkle peppermint oil around the windows and cracks of the house. Spiders despise it and will hopefully choose a new place to hang out. To cover a larger area, add the peppermint oil to a spray bottle of water and spray generously. Peppermint Oil is non toxic so if your dogs decide they want to check out the new smell you have nothing to worry about.
2. Vinegar.
Make a mixture of white vinegar and a few drops of coconut oil Shake well and spray on areas where spiders seem to be a problem.
3. Place some peels or invest in some citrus oil.
It is rumored that spiders do not like citrus, so save your citrus peels and see if placing them in spider prone areas make a difference. If you don’t want to attract other bugs you will probably prefer to use Citrus Oil – a nice lemon, lime, or orange Essential Oil would be perfect for the job.
4. Seal up the cracks.
If you have any cracking in your windows or foundation be sure to seal them up. This way, spiders are unable to sneak in.
5. Expose them.
Don’t give spiders a place to hide. Keep clutter in the yard and around the home to a minimum and you will have less problems with them.
All of these tips are natural and therefore safe for your pets as well, making you feel confident in the kind of pest control you are utilizing. Good luck!

These are some great tips. I never would’ve thought of any of these. These tips will become even more helpful because we now have two cats.

Thanks of the helpful tips! We live out in Tennessee and feel that there’s a never ending problem of bugs, spiders, and the likes. What is tricky is that we do keep our house neat and clean all the time and STILL see spiders all over the place. It might be that we need to take another GOOD look at the cracks and such to ensure there’s none.

I hate spiders (they have officially been given notice to move out of my place before I move in!) I will definitely be trying the peppermint oil!
