Easy Easter Basket Treats for Your Dog

Not sure what to put in your pup’s Easter basket this year? Take a look below at some fun and frugal ideas that are sure to get your pooch in the spirit. You don’t want to leave him out when everyone is opening their baskets, so give these ideas a try instead. He is sure to love them.

1. Chew Bones.
Dogs love gnawing on chew bones. They leave teeth and gums healthy too so they are not only tasty, they keep them healthy. Dollar stores carry rawhide treats in assorted sizes, or you can opt for more expensive treats from your local Pet Supply Store but make sure you grab a bunch so help keep your pets teeth healthy.

2. Tennis balls.
Tennis balls are a dog’s best friend. Find tennis balls in bright colors to help ring in the Easter season in fun! You can even hide the tennis balls in socks if you wish to really see your dog get active. Some dogs would go nuts getting an Easter Basket full of Tennis Balls. You know your dog. Give them something that they will jump for joy at receiving.

3. A new brush.
Give your dog a new brush and make the promise to spend some time each day using it. Dog’s love to be brushed and groomed as it keeps them happier and healthier. There are all sort of brushes and combs out there. Find one that is right for your dog’s coat type. Regular grooming helps keep shedding to a minimum and allows you to keep an eye on the health and well being of your pet. Your pet could probably care less if this was int heir Easter Basket – it’s not food or toys but when you groom them with it and spend time with them touching them and petting them they will be in heaven.

4. DIY fleece blanket.
Buy a few yards of fleece at your local craft store for a simple DIY fleece blanket. Fringe the edges with scissors and you are all set. Your dog will love curling up on his new blanket and you will be happy because it didn’t empty your wallet.

5. A New Collar and Leash
Spring has sprung so why not treat your dog to a new collar and leash for when you go on walks and adventures. It is important to make sure your pet’s collar is in good shape which generally means buying a new collar about 2 times a year. Your dog will look very proud of their new collar and you can have the piece of mind that it will not snap or break because it is brand new and ready for all the fun you plan on having this Spring and Summer.
