Dr. Seuss Snack – Deviled Green Eggs

Here is a Dr. Seuss snack that is just as fun for adults as it is for kids. These Dr. Seuss Deviled Green Eggs are a play on the fun story Green Eggs and Ham. Sam I Am was hesitant to give green eggs a try, but you won’t when you see all of the yummy ingredients that go into these. They are a colorful twist on traditional deviled eggs and sure to be a fun addition to any Seuss themed party. Take a look at how you can make your own.

Supplies needed:
3 Large eggs
1 tablespoon of mustard
1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
1 small pickle
Salt and pepper to taste
Green food coloring
Plastic baggie







Directions:
1. Begin by boiling your eggs until they are hard boiled. Remove the shells and rinse.
2. Cut the eggs in half and gently spoon out the firm yolk. Place it in a bowl.
3. Add the mustard, mayonnaise, and chopped pickle to the yolk. Mix well with a fork until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4. Add 3-5 drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir until it is the hue of your choosing. For a darker mixture add more, for a lighter mixture at less.
5. Spoon the mixture into a plastic baggie. Move it to the tip of the bag. Take scissors and cut a small hole in the tip so that it serves as a pastry bag.
6. Squeeze the mixture back into the eggs. You can top with paprika or additional salt and pepper if you wish.

Chill the deviled eggs if you don’t plan on eating them right away. These make the perfect snack for your Dr. Seuss themed parties or just if you want to enjoy an activity to accompany the book.
