Pets Add Life Childrens Poetry Contest

Students in grades 3rd-8th across the nation are invited to write a unique poem about their pets, what they love about them and the joys they bring to their lives. Teachers within the contest grade levels are welcome to incorporate this national contest into their lesson plans, and submit poems in one entry, on behalf of his/her classroom. If you need some inspiration check out the poems from last year’s Poetry Contest Winners!

The contest is a wonderful opportunity for kids to creatively express their love of pets whether they be lizards, fish, rabbits, dogs, cats, horses, and everything in between, while also allowing them to compete for really great prizes. said Bob Vetere, APPA President & CEO
One student from each grade level (6 total) nationwide will win a $250 gift certificate for pet products, and a “by-line” in a nationally circulated publication or online outlet. In addition, the six winning students’ classrooms will each win a $1,000 scholarship to spend on pet-related education or to support a classroom pet. and submit poems via PAL’s Facebook page at facebook.com/petsaddlife, online at www.PetsAddLife.org or mail final poems and submission forms to:

So excited to see this. My son’s school is always looking for “organic” assignments. And what’s more fun than a second graders poem about his guinea pig…unless it’s how his mouse poops a lot? Very excited (did I say excited) to share this with the teachers.
Thank you!
