Dogs Are My Home

Dogs Are Home National Museum of Animals and Society

We often hear that home is where the heart is. This couldn’t mean more to those living on the streets, or in Judy’s case, under a bridge. Without four walls and a roof, any sense of home is a blessing, and fortunately, Judy has three: her dogs, Melody, Anastasia and Roxie. They keep her calm, and make her feel safe. She sees them not as pets, but as her children. Most people assume she can’t care for them, but what we caught on film was the refreshing and surprising story of a family who survive each day with little more than one another. This family is being featured as part of the “Dogs Are My Home” exhibit at the National Museum of Animals and Society in Los Angeles. For more information visit http://www.museumofanimals.org/

  4. Judy is my hero! I completely agree with her statements: our dogs ARE our children! If our financial circumstances do not turn out in our favor, we still do what we can to keep our children safe and healthy…sometimes giving to THEM before ourselves. Blessings to Judy and her adorable family!
