Advice from Mom
I spent much of my young childhood going shopping every weekend with my grandmother. I have no idea if we bought stuff every weekend or if we really did go every weekend but it was certainly mulitple times a month. I was in the department store so often that the sales ladies knew my name. It was honestly traumatic for me. You just had to say the word shopping and I felt sick. NO store enticed me except maybe the General Store on summer vacations but that was only because they sold penny candy. It took well into college in order to not feel sick if I had to go shopping. Actually I think I know when the first time I honestly didn’t mind going and that was creating my wedding registry. It was fun to just choose stuff and add it to the list. It was more like a game then any other shopping experience I had before not that I didn’t put a lot of thought into the items I chose it just felt different.
Fast forward a few years and my mom introduced me to Nordstrom Rack. It became her go to place to shop because they had great quality clothing at fraction of the price. And quite frankly it became a favorite of mine as well. I could get 5 shirts for the price of 1 or 2 at regular price and they always had great color selections. The only downside is that you never knew what you were going to find compared to going to the Nordstrom Department store and everything being there in pristine condition just calling your name.
Advice from Mom: Never get anything at Full Price unless you are absolutely in love and it is perfect for whatever occasion or event you have coming up. Well as all of my regular readers know BlogPaws is coming up and because of my new role as BlogPaws Blogger Outreach and Communications Manager not only do I need a few new outfits I need a ton of new outfits including something really special for the Red Carpet. So you know when I am at the mall shopping in 2 weeks (yes it is all planned out) I will absolutely be checking out Nordstrom with my coupons in hand! If you are saying hold on coupons for Nordstrom? Really I feel a bit embarrassed to share this. I always considered my moms words wisdom. When I was much younger she told me ‘you can have sex any time you want, as long as its safe and you go into it understanding you could still get pregnant. If you arnt ready for a baby, or the chance of it with the person your bedding. Dont do it’ and I might of taken a bit more to heart. But its true. Especially since my mom has seven kids.
No matter where you are, people are the same. You can’t hide from bad things, and if you try, you are hiding from good things, too!
Always speak from the heart and Never be afraid to express your opinions.

Although I didn’t follow her advice, my mom (jokingly) always said it’s just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor man.
