Stray Cat Gives New Sight to Blind Dog

Judy Godfrey-Brown owner of Terfela dog that went blind due to cataracts found a stray cat one day and let it into her home. She hoped that her blind dog wouldn’t be too put off by having a house mate and that the cat would be ok living in a home with a dog. What happened during their first meeting is not something Ms.Godfrey-Brown ever expected. The cat now named Pwditat, walked up to Terfel and led him out of his dog bed and out and into the garden. Pwditat seemed to be able to sense that not only was Terfel not a threat but that Terfel needed her help. She uses her paws to help guide him.

Before Pwditat came into their lives Terfel would constantly bump into things and over time became scared of leaving the sanctuary of his dog bed. Terfel can now enjoy trips to the garden to sit in the sun with Pwditat guiding him from inside the house safely to his favorite spot in the garden. He also enjoys resting on the couch as he knows Pwditat will not allow him to fall or hurt himself if she senses that he is getting too close to the edge of the couch she will put her body in his way. While most dogs and cats merely tolerate each other Tefel ad Pwditat are best friends and can often be found sleeping cuddled up together. Pwditat has given Terfel a new lease on life and in exchange Pwditat has gone from stray unwanted street cat to a necessary and loved member of a family.
