Our Trip to the Pet Store – Come Check Out Our Pictures

I decided that I wanted to do something we have NEVER done on Two Little Cavaliers and posted about. Take the dogs to the pet store with me. Yes I just said take the dogs as in both of them. Indiana does well in all sorts of situations Davinia not so much. The plan was to take Indiana and leave Davinia with a chew bone in her crate to keep her happy and distracted. Plan A failed completely Davinia is not having a very good day and decided that she wanted no part in being left home alone bone or not. Since we live in an apartment and I knew she was just going to stay upset I bit the bullet and took her with us.

Taking her with us meant I first had to get their crate in the car and then get the two of them in the car. Generally a really easy things to do but once Davinia get upset the task goes from simple to a chore because when Davinia gets that way she sets off Indiana. I got them both in the car, decided that the lawn service truck that cut us off on the way to the store could just go because I wasn’t going to crash into them with the dogs in the car, and arrived at the store. When we got to the store I parked as close to a bunch of shopping carts as I could so that the girls didn’t have to stay in the car that long while I went to get one. I put my winter jacket down on the bottom of the cart so their little paws wouldn’t hurt and then put them in with their leashes on.

The nearest pet store is only about a half a mile away but it is really small so many of the pet brands I am used to seeing at the same store when we lived in Miami there just isn’t space for which is why many of our pictures involve food instead of more fun stuff like treats which are practically non-existent at the store by us. I do have to say thank you to the store for not questioning my picture taking or making us leave because of Davinia’s behavior. We even managed to pick up a bag of food so they would have food for dinner.

Speaking of dog food for whatever reason Davinia was the quietest in the food aisles. So we got to take a number of pictures in that section. We have a Review and Giveaway coming up for one of our sponsors for some treats so I thought it would be fun to take pictures of them at the store with the treats in our shopping cart. Like I said I did manage to pick up a bag of dog food. Davinia was on the ground and Indiana was in the cart alone so I put the bag in with her. I guess I didn’t put it in well or Davinia pulled on her leash which moved the cart and made the bag fall down so Indiana decided it would be best to play queen of the bag of dog food. Then we went to check on the toy section. The girls don’t play with toys very much but their eyes almost popped out of their heads when they saw them all lining the shelves. Maybe it was all the colors I really don’t know but they were interested and really had to look around. Once we finished in the dog section we checked out the other sections. The cat section was pretty much all food though we might have missed the cat toy aisle because for whatever reason on that side of the store Davinia decided she wasn’t very happy. The girls tried to convince me that we should get a hamster or gerbil or maybe even a bunny and that they would play nice. If it was just Indiana I would have taken her over to say hi to the little animals but with Davinia too it was just not worth it. When Indiana was in puppy school she used to spend a few minutes before each class having a conversation with the Macaw that was in the store.

I was hoping to be able to try some costumes on Indiana but with Davinia there that wasn’t possible. But when we went past the Halloween aisle there were some decorated cookies there that the girls almost both jumped out of the cart to get at. Since they seemed so interested in them I decided to buy them a bag so they could have a treat after dinner tonight. When I took the cookies off the shelf and put them in the cart Indiana tried to steal them out of the front of the cart to eat herself.
