Puppy Dropped by Hawk Doing Well

Puppy dropped by a hawk

A little puppy that survived flying lessons courtesy of a Hawk is now being cared for by the young boy who saw it fall from the sky. The puppy that is believed to be about 8 day old pup who still need to be bottle fed almost didn’t survive the fall in the back garden at the little boy’s home. The puppy is now in better condition then when it first landed in the garden and things are looking up for his future.

The young boy’s mother said “Right here is where [my son] started yelling that he saw the puppy. I looked up and the hawk was just flying right here, circling around and at that point, we all just went to the puppy. My thought is that when God drops a puppy from the sky, you keep it.”

The family believes the pup may have been a stray from a junkyard because it was covered with grease when they found it. Now the puppy is named TJ Heavenly after its owner and its flying lesson from the Hawk. The puppy has seen a vet and gotten its vaccinations and been given a clean bill of health after his ordeal.

  1. Lauralee Hensley says

Poor puppy, glad he’s doing better. My mom-in-law’s old toy size poodle once got lifted up off the ground at night by an owl. The dog struggled and my mom-in-law flung a few rocks up in the sky at it. It dropped her dog. The dog survived, but had some puncture wounds where the claws of the bird had penatrated the fur and skin. Antibiotics took care of the problem after the vet cleaned the wounds, and a couple of stitches where needed. However a couple of weeks after that, the dogs fur turned from a light brown chocolate color around the puncture wound areas to grayish white. The dog lived on for a few years after that. She was an old dog. I’ve seen hawks and owls sweep down at twilight and night to try and get my older min pin before. That’s why when I let him outside at night to do his potty business, I’m right there watching in case I have to fling my arms to make the birds fly away. During the day I don’t worry too much, because his big buddy (our other dog a Belgium Malinois) is outside with him and looks out after him. Plus the big dog alerts us with his bark if anything is up, since he is a guard dog.

  2. So glad to hear this little one is doing well. It’s amazing that such a young pup would survive an ordeal like this. Continued prayers for the pup’s recovery.

  3. How sweet!! So happy the little pup survived that ordeal!! 🙂
