Justice the Puppy Burned Alive

Justice the puppy

Darius Ewing, 18, is behind bars for allegedly setting a stray dog on fire outside a Pleasant Grove apartment complex last month. The dog, later named Justice by an animal rescue organization, died a few days later. Since turning himself in for what he did Ewing has been sitting in jail on a $100,000 bail since his family cannot come up with the money. Even though he turned himself in and admitted to setting the puppy on fire and then lighting it up with a cigarette his mother claims he is a good boy and wouldn’t do something like that. Therefore she is trying to get his layers to have his bail reduced so that he can come home to await his trial.

They are claiming his bail is set higher then it would be in a murder trial. Activists on both sides have been arguing for days going back and forth. We all know that injuring or killing animals for fun or sport leads to those same crimes against adults and children. Between now and when the trial starts he could potentially do serious harm to another animal or person and so waiting in jail for his sentence at least in my opinion is justified. If the mother was so adamant about getting her good son out of jail she would have asked those trying to get his bail lowered to post his bail for him but who would want to be responsible for someone with such violent tendencies especially when so much money is on the line.

The judge assigned to the case and set to hear the arguments from both parties about the bail he had set had to excuse himself because he knows one of the veterinarians at the practice that treated Justice the puppy after he was set on fire. The veterinarian told him how much pain the puppy would have been in and everything that was done to try and save the puppy’s life.

  1. I hope the suffering that Justice had to endure was brief,,,,I hope that the “good boy” suffers long, hard, and excrutiatingly for what he has done. There is no penalty too severe for a person who would deliberately do this to any innocent living animal.

  2. Wake up Mom… he’s not the good boy you say he is, but I’ll bet you know that already
