All animals were rescued, but whoever started the fire got away. Actually whoever started the fire is thought to be setting fire to multiple locations around Logan West Virginia. At first they seems to be targeting commercial properties at night when people were home and the businesses closed for the night. But that was not the case at the Animal Hospital there were animals there that were being cared for and they could have died in the fire.
Knowles Animal Hospital caught fire early Sunday morning. Investigators found a back door broken into, and some type of flammable liquid on the floor which has now been determined to be gasoline. They found canisters at the scene which they took for processing that appeared to be what the arsonists used to bring the gasoline to the animal hospital. While the animals are safe the hospital will not have to find a new location to operate out of as their building was too badly damaged to go back into.
Police are taking the escalation of the Arsonists very seriously and local community members are very scared that those responsible could turn to family homes again. Police believe very strongly that these this latest group of fires are related to those in the community in November.
