Daphne
Surrey Police report the outbuilding where the Russian Caucasian Ovcharka puppy was left when the family went out seemed to have been targeted as no attempt was made to break into the main section of the house. Det Insp Stewart Leahy said Daphne the puppy was a much-loved family pet. Her exact monetary value is not known but police said it was “several thousand pounds”. Russian Ovcharka’s are pretty rare in Britain with only a few registered so police hope the puppy will stand out if seen on the street or in a yard.
The puppy called Daphne by her owners was wearing a soft nylon collar which was described as being a rusty brown or orange color. Surrey Police officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area and reviewing local CCTV footage in an attempt to find clues as to who stole the puppy.
