Bob Kumbier has a new found respect for his dog, Holly. It is all thanks to Holly the dog his granddaughter got him last Christmas that he survived an accident on the day after Thanksgiving, when a piece of heavy duty farm equipment malfunctioned and pinned him to the point he couldn’t move or breathe. Mr. Kumbier was running out of air and he knew he needed to do something to stay alert and call for help. Holly answered his call saw he was in trouble and started barking
At first Holly jumped up on the piece of farm equipment trying to lick his face but her extra weight made the situation worse. Then she got off and started barking and eventually Mrs. Kumbier heard Holly and went running. They both credit the dog for saving his life because they know if she hadn’t stood her ground and continued to bark it would have been a very long time before anyone realized there was a problem and went looking for him.
