A family found their dog alive Wednesday, after an explosion tore through their home. At first the family thought that they had escaped the blast but had lost their dog. When they went back to the house to see if there was anything left inside the house they were shocked to hear whimpering coming from the debris. The father followed the crying all the way to what had been the kitchen. Diva the dog was found alive inside a hamper full of clothes behind the freezer.
The dog was taken to see a vet as soon as they were able to get her out of the debris but did not seem badly injured. A 4-year-old boy, his father and grandparents were at home at the time of the explosion, and they all walked away unharmed. Investigators believe a natural gas leak is to blame for the explosion that almost claimed the lives of everyone in the family.
