Dog Stabbed 21 Times and Lives

Dempsey, a Staffordshire bull terrier, was tossed over a garden fence and left to die after the barbaric attack in which he sustained 21 stab wounds to his body. His owner came home to blood all over the house and the dog no longer there so called police and asked friends to help look for the missing dog. The dog was found just in time and rushed by the police to a veterinary hospital for three-hour surgery which saved his life. The vets who had seen stab wound or deep wounds before had never seen something so violent or worse injuries especially to Dempsey’s pancreas and diaphragm.

Owner Claire Wilkinson said Dempsey had been staying with her 19-year-old daughter Lauren at the time of the attack in Bournemouth, Dorset. No one knows why the dog was attacked or who the attackers were. Thank goodness Dempsey pulled through with the help of an amazing veterinary team and is now recovering at home with his owner and her daughter but the ordeal he went through will leave scars for a dog that was loving and friendly towards everyone who was raised as a family dog and had never witness violence before much less an attack so brutal. The apartment was trashed and many of  items inside were damaged but nothing was stolen in the raid. Cops are appealing to anyone with information about it to contact them.
