Puppy with Fatal Knife Wound Left at Gas Station

The New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Police (NJ SPCA) and the police are investigating the murder of a 2-week-old pit bull puppy on July 26 at the 19 Express gas station on Routes 1/9 North in the Avenel section of Woodbridge. Between 11:30 a.m. and noon, a vehicle believed to be a black Buick Rendezvous caught on surveillance video drove into the gas station and parked on the side of the building. A female passenger was seen getting out of the vehicle crying and holding a small puppy that was alive and in distress. Police were called to the scene when people realized the puppy was left. What they found was that the puppy had a massive stomach wound that was consistent with a knife cut on its underside, exposing its internal organs.
