Puppies Buried alive
Three puppies survived a horrible ordeal. Police said the dog owners, two teen boys, tried to bury the puppies alive in a deserted lot near their home. A neighbor called police even though the boys said they were just playing. When police arrived that is not what they found going on they found the puppies buried and the boys had left the scene. The boys have conflicting stories but came back when the police arrived. On the one hand they say they were playing and on the other they say their father told them to get rid of the puppies because they ate the fresh eggs from the chicken. If the puppies did steal the eggs the family should have been paying better attention to the puppies and not allow them to go near the chickens in the first place.
Police said one of the teens hit a puppy with a stick before burying them in the hole. Police arrested the brothers for animal cruelty, but neighbors said the boys told them it was their father who ordered them to get rid of the dogs, he denies it. Initially the puppies seemed to have made it through the ordeal in good health, but a vet later diagnosed one of the puppies with parvo. So not only were these boys raised in such a way that they thought it would be ok to bury a dog alive but the puppies were not receiving the medical care they needed in the first place.
Thank goodness the puppies are now in the care of a vet overseeing their treatment and will hopefully get healthy enough to be adopted to a loving family soon. There is just no excuse for the way these puppies were treated. If they didn’t want the puppies or couldn’t handle them they could have at least brought them to a shelter so they would hopefully find a new home.
Eating the eggs which were going to be food for the family is really no different then a puppy eating a shoe or chewing or the furniture. It is up to the owner to teach the puppy good behavior and keep them out of the way of tempting things.
How horrible!!!! At least the puppies are okay!
Please, please tell me the officers called animal control to remove the mother from these evil people. She is in danger and will end up getting pregnant again because these are not responisble pet owners. They have no business having any animals!
WTD?!? Oh, Felissa…what is wrong with people?! Those poor puppies…I hope the vet can get them healthy and into a loving home!

Perhaps the puppies were eating the eggs because the mother was weening them and the family that owned them hadn’t started feeding them. Dah! Get a brain cell people, feed the dogs and they probably wouldn’t be so interested in the eggs.
Horrible. They should have contacted a no-kill animal shelter if they couldn’t keep them.
It reminds me of a cat we had for a little while growing up as a kid. My Dad was working for the power company stringing new power lines by a water ditch of some sort and he saw a pillow case knotted up floating on top of the water and thought he heard a meow.
He wadded in and got the pillowcase, opened it up and sure enough a couple of kittens were in it. One alive, one dead. He brought the live one home and we kept it until he found a co-worker that wanted it. We already had a cat and the two didn’t get along.
That’s why people should spay or neuter their pets.
Just wondering how the mother dog is treated? There was no mention of the bitch.
