Man Stole Bank Directors Dog

The Dognaper

Gabriel Radzikowski kidnapped a bank director’s 15 year old Yorkshire Terrier Bilbo Baggins and demanded a ransom of £500, in revenge for her failure to help secure him a loan. The man was furious that his former neighbor Sara Lilly, was unable to use her position as a regional director at Lloyds TSB to help him get a loan. To get back at her he broke into the back garden of her home and stole her dog.

He called her home using a false name, claimed he had found the pet and demanded £500 for its safe return. Lilly recognized his voice and called the police. Apparently once the police were notified of the dognaping the man dumped Bilbo in a freezing pond. Someone walking by potted the dog and was able to get him to safety.

Sentencing Radzikowski at Bristol crown court, Judge Michael Longman told him: “Your motive was financial and to get your own back. It was planned, calculated and cruel. You did not feel the slightest regret or remorse for your actions.”
