Be the Change for Pets and Pet Bloggers Blog Hop

I just wanted to take a moment to apologize to all of you for the problems we have had with our blog the past few days. We were very frustrated and unable to post all of the information we had for you this week so this post is going to be about an upcoming event rather then what we had planned this post to be.Until this afternoon we weren’t even sure we would be fully participating in the Blog Hop this weekend and had come up with an alternate way to give you all the information on how to link up.

Time for another BlogPaws’ Be the Change for Pets project! R U Ready?
We’re heading into May and we know it’s time for spring cleaning. Let’s do it up right and clean out our closets for a good cause!

Join pet bloggers and pet lovers from around the world, on May 18 -25th- as we host the world’s first online garage sale to benefit animal rescue or any other animal based cause you would like. You can participate from your own home and the level of participation you take on is completely up to you. Of course if you go for it you’ll benefit your favorite shelter or rescue group so really its an extra incentive to just do a little bit more.

How to Participate

1. Post the Be the Change for Pets Facebook wall to let us know you’ve accepted the challenge, then share it with all your friends, readers, relatives, long lost Facebook friends ad twitter followers.

2. Clean out your closets Encourage everyone you know to clean out their closets, too. Just because it is an online event is not stopping you from holding a good old fashioned garage sale on a Sunday morning if that is easier for you.

3. Pick a sale site such as eBay or Craig’s List or Etsy to put your items up for sale. Never sold anything  online before? You can follow the directions on any of the three sites to figure out how it works.

4. If your closets are clean, you don’t have time to deal with going to the post office to ship items,or  don’t have the patients to learn how to list items on e-bay listen up.  Two Little Cavaliers is willing to make a deal with you. We became Scentsy Consultants with shipping privileges to all of the US and Canada (UK and Germany based bloggers lease email us for information) in order to help raise money for animal rescue and other animal based organizations. What we are willing to do is offer each of you the opportunity to host a party where all of my commission will go to the organization of your choice. You will still have to promote your sale to your friends and family pointing them in the right direction but Scentsy will do the shipping and all the other not to fun stuff. All you need to do is email me so we can set up an online party for you (we can do a basket party if that is more appealing). Hosts and hostesses will receive their hostess credit which you can use for yourself or to send to the organization of your choice for a future fundraiser of theirs. If you have never heard of Scentsy you can check out our review https://www.twolittlecavaliers.com/2010/12/scentsy-review-and-fundraiser.html

On May 18th, post your items for sale on your designated site and then add your sale items to the Linky List which will be open on this blog by then…  Next, promote, promote, promote…to get those items sold! Sales should run until May 25th.

Donate the proceeds of your sales to your pet charity of choice. Then, report your total donation to Be the Change for Pets on Facebook by June 5th so we can announce our collective impact!

Any questions? Hop over to the Be the Change for Pets Facebook page and ask away in the Discussion Tab.

Please read through the updated rules before you enter your link. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

  1. Howdy, I would love to have an online Scentsy party. Count me in, please. 8>)

  2. Thanks for hosting. I know it has been a trying week for all of us on Blogger. Hopefully we'll all get caught up next week. Happy tails!

  3. What a wonderful idea! We wish we had seen this a couple weeks ago – we took all of our gently used/never even opened stuff down to our shelter for the other pups to use. I bet Mama could set up a booth at our Farmers Market & sell pup treats though! The proceeds could go to SAINTS here in Vancouver, a rescue dedicated to giving senior animals of all sorts a good life.

  4. We still have quite a bit of stuff that we collected for our spring fair that we held for the Retired Greyhound Trust – so I will tell the LOTH that I think it would be a good idea for us to hold a 'car boot sale' during that week for a good cause. Perhaps Battersea Dogs & Cats Home which are the charity of the year on the LOTH's Lost & Fond website.

Thanks to you – and your co-hosts – for powering through the blogger chaos and still hosting the blog hop for us.

    xx

  5. Amazing Idea! I was just about to get started with some cleaning to plan a yard sale in june for rescues in India. They dont get any support from the govt and people and still are doing an amazing job!

Thanks so much for Blogging the Change! As you know, my bracelet is in design mode. I’ve added the faces of all my critters and love that a portion of the cost goes toward animal causes. I can’t wait to wear it to BlogPaws! Thanks for all you do.
