During a game between Ituiutaba and Uberlandia in Brazil last week, a field invader who was there to help keep things civil between the rival teams decided he had enough of his job and wanted to play with the soccer players instead. As an Uberlandia player was about to kick the ball, a police dog called Agil ran out and took the ball away from him. After playing with the ball a bit, his handler slowly put him back on his leash while the crowd cheered Agil’s effort to win the ball. He certainly performed his task as peace keeper very well with his bid for the ball. I am sure when they asked for K-9 Police presence they did not have anything like this in mind. Though Agil’s game of ball did more to help keep things civil while the rival fans cheered cheered him on from the stands.
Always being at their very best especially can sometimes prove to be a little too much for a young working dog. Especially said Police Dog is made to sit on the sidelines of a Football / American Soccer game and watch the ball being kicked back and forth with people cheering and clapping. It will not take long for them to figure out a way to leave their handler in their dust while pouncing on he ball in the middle of a game.
