Our First Trip to Global Pet Expo

We haven’t really discussed it on our blog yet and with everything going on in the world right now telling you all that we are at Global Pet Expo sort of took a back seat.

We are here now ok I am here now the hotel like most hotels in Orlando isn’t Pet Friendly so the girls had to stay home. It stinks but the girls are happy. This morning when I dropped them off at the Vet they ran right into the inside kennel they hang out in and were all smiley. I know they will be well taken care of and everyone there loves them which is actually great because there are so many toys, treats, foods, and people at Global Pet Expo that I am not sure I would be able to keep Davinia happy on the show floor and Indiana would just think everything was about her and demand treats from everyone.

I know you are thinking to yourself what in the world is Global Pet Expo? Global Pet Expo is billed as the pet industry’s largest annual trade show. Global Pet Expo is presented by American Pet Products Association (APPA) along with the Pet Industry Distributors Association. There are 2,366 booths full of pet products to check out and 822 companies to meet. The Expo floor is divided up into different sections including Boutique, Natural Pet, International Pavilion, Everything Aquatic, and What’s New? and then the main floor of companies that have been presenting their products at the Expo for many years.

To say it is a bit overwhelming is an understatement. There are so many companies that want to meet with us and so many companies we want to meet with there is almost no way we will get to see everyone or everything. We did go through all the newly launched products today. Some were pretty cool like the Bamboo and Rice Husk pet dishes there were some treats that Davinia and Indiana would go nuts for including the pumpkin pecan cookies and the apple pie non-wheat cookies. There were some interesting looking chew treats that were just launched. I sort of wish there was a company representative standing near the new products so you can ask questions but at the same time I understand just having the products out with some literature saves a lot of room and allows companies not to have to deal with 2 booths in completely separate areas.

Promise to update again tomorrow when I have gotten to meet more companies and hopefully have pictures to share. Do you know of a product you would like me to check out for you in order to find out more about it?
