In the wake of Disaster Pet Bloggers Blog Hop

In the wake of the devastation to Japan from a major Earthquake and then a within hours Tsunami waves that covered whole areas of the country it is clear that the country will need help. When We see video of cars crashing into each other in the dangerous currents in the middle of cities we know Japan will need help. In addition to the Red Cross, which has a dedicated tsunami donation page here. There is a way to help the pets of the people who have been displaced, lost their homes, and in some cases have missing family members.  World Vets, an international veterinary aid organization that provides free veterinary aid, resources and support during times of disaster all over the world are currently coordinating with Japanese Veterinarians to being their relief efforts there.

World Vets is a non-government organization (NGO) providing veterinary aid around the globe in collaboration with animal advocacy groups, foreign governments, US and foreign military groups and veterinary professionals abroad. Our work spans 25 countries and 6 continents and addresses not only veterinary issues, but also human health issues impacted by zoonotic diseases in developing countries. World Vets is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. I actually got to meet the Executive Director of World Vets at BlogPaws West 2010 and heard her speak about her organization. I know that not everyone can donate large amounts of money but they do have an extensive wish list that you might find you are in the unique position to fulfill.
