#blogathon Meet Duke

This is Duke-pure bred German Short Hair Pointer 12-13 years young. He was given up by his former owners because they were moving and didn’t think it was possible for him and housemate, Phoenix (an older Great Dane who has been adopted) could come along. Duke came in overweight; he is now at a healthy weight and outside of a little arthritis, he is quite healthy. He still likes to play, go for walks and rides and loves attention. He is a very obedient boy and knows basic commands and is fully housebroken. Duke still has plenty of life to live and love to give to the right owner. He is good with other dogs, likes kids and doesn’t seem to mind cats. Would love for him to be adopted-older dogs make great pets! Duke is current on shots, neutered, on heartworm prevention and fully housebroken. You may visit www.hstco.org to download an adoption application or email [email protected] for more information.

  1. I love GSPs. They are such awesome dogs. He sounds like such a sweetheart. It's too bad he's so far away as I would seriously consider adopting him. With or without the husband's knowledge.

  2. Duke looks like a wonderful dog! We sure hope he finds his furever family very soon.

  3. Oh, I hope Duke finds a home. He sounds, and looks, like such a sweetheart! I'd adopt him without my parents knowledge if he was in the area. I hope he finds someone!
